Message Despite spelling it out, somehow I don't think you mean a real "race track" as in turns. You mean in a straight-line on a drag strip, correct? The reason I distinguish this is that it'd take way more than just POWER to beat a bike on a race track =)

As far as in a straight line, that's still no easy task. from a dead dig, a car with a good driver, drag tires, etc would need a high 10-second to low 11-second car depending on the particular bike (modded 750s can be as quick as a stock 1000cc for instance). The kind of power required to do that is around the 500+RWHP mark. That is a very, very rough area because other things play a hand like weight of the car, the transmission, the launch (which is mostly driver), etc. Cars with around 500RWHP have run those times though it may take the average driver/car combination closer to 600RWHP to do it.

Hope that helps. As for bikers thinking they are the shit...well, you kinda have to let them. It's much more dangerous to ride those things and if the main reason they enjoy it is the cock-waving aspect, then they are riding for the wrong reason. I can only imagine it's the most thrilling thing in the world outside of the bravado.

If you think defending quality shops and site sponsors with proven records makes him a whore, then you are the ones with the problem. Stop being bitches. - October 21, 2003 at 06:16 PM
